Overcoming challenges in the international companies

The international companies are and remain a strong pillar of the Klüh Group. Employing more than 30,000 people working to high quality standards, they were able to overcome sometimes enormous challenges and maintain their market positions in 2020. China and the United Arab Emirates again made the biggest contribution to turnover outside Germany.

In all countries, Klüh was able to strengthen its clients' confidence in their partnership. In the company's international business, the focus is increasingly on bundling services and implementing complex service concepts. Greater efforts were made to introduce new hygiene standards, advance digitalization, deploy support tools including cobotics and implement measures to ensure sustainability and environmental protection.

Of significant importance in the international business is Klüh's active membership in international organisations such as ISSA – The World Cleaning Industry Association. Klüh is one of the ten members of this organisation's Innovation & Education Committee.

With its locations in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, Berkeley Services is one of the top three facility management providers in the United Arab Emirates. This Klüh subsidiary, like others as well, can look back on a year full of challenges which it mastered with flying colours. In summary, it can be stated that the company was able to further strengthen the trust of its long-standing clients through collaborative partnership and build on its very good reputation. Berkeley Services' outstanding performance was rewarded in 2020 with many new contracts as well as the renewal of existing contracts.

Strong expertise builds very good reputation in China

In China, Klüh is one of the largest international service providers and among the market leaders in the clinic service sector. 2020 was therefore a very challenging year for all the company's employees there as they responded to the pandemic. One positive effect of Klüh's high professionalism in cleaning and hygiene was the expansion and strengthening of existing client relationships and the development of new contacts. The company's strong expertise as a provider of integrated services for other sectors resulted in interesting new contracts for all subsidiaries.

New contracts from various sectors in Turkey

In 2020, Klüh celebrated the 15th anniversary of its Turkish subsidiary, Klüh Türkiye. It was also pleased to win new contracts despite the pandemic. The company's head office is in Istanbul and, together with the regional offices in Izmir and Ankara, serves more than 150 prestigious clients in various sectors. Although independent teams are responsible for each of the divisions, Klüh Türkiye also provides clients with an overhead management structure as part of an integrated service approach. In other words, there is a single point of contact for all services.

Klüh in the Netherlands: an innovation leader in aircraft cleaning

In the Netherlands, Klüh Service Management Nederland B. V. has many long-standing business relationships with major airlines. Principal among these is KLM, which Klüh has been serving at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport since 2002. Among the aviation specialist's other clients at Europe's third-largest airport are six direct clients and 30 clients served via airline handling partners. Following the start of the pandemic, all airlines implemented stricter hygiene measures. In regular disinfection operations, Klüh used innovative products to ensure aircraft hygiene.
