In 2020, Klüh's Cleaning division was able to maintain its outstanding market position and deliver solid growth, despite the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. The primary goal in 2020 was to deploy innovative cleaning methods and concepts to ensure the safety and well-being of our clients, our employees and society at large. During the year, Klüh has lived up to its reputation as a hygiene specialist and also sustained its contribution to preserving the value of residential and commercial property.

Catering ensured continued high customer satisfaction in 2020

Under normal circumstances, Klüh Catering is dedicated mind and soul to delivering good food to employees, elderly people, schoolchildren, students, guests and travellers. However, as we all know, Covid-19 made 2020 different – especially for the hospitality sector. Nevertheless, many innovative solutions have been developed and Klüh again received the 'German Customer Award' for customer satisfaction* in the field of business catering. Klüh also remains the leader in care catering in Germany**.

Clinic Service – cleaning to RKI standards

In 2020, the healthcare sector was confronted with enormous challenges. At the same time, there has been a digitalisation boom in this sector. To ensure hygiene, Klüh's Clinic Service division deploys dedicated hygiene specialists who work to the standards specified by Germany's Robert Koch Institute. They are supported in their work by Klüh's hygiene handbook, digital tools such as DigiClean® and DigiService, a service-on-demand concept, intelligent cleaning carts and innovative cleaning machines. Service companies have been established jointly with clients to manage all non-medical services.

Security demonstrates systemic relevance of its services, especially during a pandemic

Klüh Security's clients include many facilities and organisations in sectors such as healthcare, finance and insurance, transport, government and public administration, energy, water and food supply that are covered by Germany's critical infrastructure protection (CIP) regulations. In 2020, the emergence of Covid-19 meant that all these sectors faced extreme challenges. Each day, through their enormous commitment and great professionalism, Klüh Security employees demonstrated the systemic relevance of their work. At hospitals, coronavirus testing centres, vaccination centres, airports, military installations and supermarkets, they provided protection to the facilities and organisations that are defined as critical infrastructure, at the same time proving the systemic relevance of their own services.

Personnel Service provides valuable staff recruitment support

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, many companies have been unable to deploy their own employees during lockdown. By contrast, there are other companies that have been experiencing staff shortages despite the lockdown. With some sectors booming, many employees were often stretched both physically and mentally. These include, in particular, sectors of systemic relevance which have experienced very high levels of demand to keep the country supplied with the necessities of life. Klüh Personnel Service loaned out many staff to warehouses and production facilities as well as tradespeople and administrative staff.

Airport Service ensures security and is preparing for 2021

In 2020, the entire aviation industry was thrown into turmoil by the coronavirus pandemic. A large number of aircraft were grounded. Flight schedules were cut back dramatically and air traffic was largely halted for months. To facilitate air travel during the summer and help support an upswing, Klüh Airport Service implemented extensive biosecurity measures to meet the various requirements specified by the European and international aviation security agencies (EASA and IATA). Although many aircraft stayed on the ground in 2020, Klüh's client United Airlines continued to operate on a relatively stable basis. In 2020, Airport Service provided ground services for some 100,000 aircraft and cleaned 20 million seats.

Integrated Services increases flexibility, saving both time and money

In 2020, Klüh used its Integrated Services portfolio to help companies increase their efficiency and performance. Integrated Services bundles all infrastructure services so a client has just one contract with the division and a single point of contact for all services. Because Klüh manages, implements and monitors various processes, it ensures greater cost efficiency for clients and makes a key contribution to generating value.
