Increasing the acceptance and possibilities of digitalisation

Digitalisation offers facility managers inestimable opportunities for simplifying processes, making them more efficient and transparent as well as reducing costs and conserving resources in the longer term. The outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic has accelerated development in the field of digitalisation and increased acceptance by clients and employees.

CoDE puts us in an ideal position for digital transformation

In recent years, the role of Klüh’s IT department has evolved. Having started as an IT support service, it became an IT service provider and is now moving increasingly towards a role as a business enabler. With the Center of Digital Excellence (CoDE), this unit is now driving digital transformation both for our own company and for our clients, thus generating significant added value.

Digital communications platform for 24/7 service

DigiService is Klüh’s proprietary online platform that facilitates rapid and structured communication. The Customer Service Portal provides Klüh’s clients with a transparent communication channel that can be accessed around the clock, 365 days a year. In 2020, the platform was used by many clients to record and process their needs and to rapidly communicate the processing status of each request.

DigiLearn provides better qualification options

Even during lockdown, Klüh has been able to provide training – thanks to DigiLearn. The coronavirus pandemic has demonstrated the importance of digitalisation and digital learning channels in education and training.

Klüh's proprietary learning management system was introduced back in 2016 and has enabled the company to train a virtually unlimited number of employees via e-learning courses.

Digital management of vehicle deployment

In the 2020 business year, Klüh introduced the DigiDrive app for the digital management of its vehicle fleet.

It simplifies all the processes associated with each vehicle and is thus a great help for the company's fleet managers. The Fleet Management Department worked with Klüh IT throughout the year to implement this application, thus driving forward its first steps in digitalisation.

Greater control and safety in cleaning and disinfection

Klüh uses DigiClean® in its cleaning and disinfection operations. This digital tool is the company’s proprietary app for mapping and optimising the entire cleaning process. It already has more than 500 users at 170 clients of the Cleaning and Clinic Service divisions and currently generates over 6,000 checks each month.

The tool also makes it possible to specifically clean and disinfect frequently used rooms, thus helping to reduce the infection risk inside buildings. An interface between DigiClean® and DigiService as well as the use of sensors enable Cleaning and Clinic Service to offer cleaning on demand. DigiClean® is also equipped with an intelligent add-on named Bluetooth Beacon, which simplifies monitoring of the cleaning process.

Klüh IT has worked closely with the Cleaning Division's experts to deploy pioneering cleaning technologies. This includes combining augmented reality with the use of data glasses that provide the cleaning operative with a visual display of the work to be performed. The glasses also specify the locations and sequence of the cleaning processes. In addition, the cleaning materials, process steps and other useful information are projected in the display. The glasses are able to communicate with cleaning equipment and materials that are equipped with sensors.

Further development of the Klüh Catering App

In 2020, we continued developing the Klüh Catering App that is already very widely used by canteen diners. Useful new functions were added to make catering during the pandemic even safer. They include a pre-ordering function, a food configurator, online payment and a function allowing guests to choose between collection and delivery.

DigiSupply – the perfect solution for canteen kitchens

Klüh Catering works with an innovative proprietary stock management and control system: DigiSupply. This tool was implemented in the canteens between June 2019 and December 2020 and currently has around 800 users. DigiSupply is a professional tool that can be used in all the areas served by Klüh Catering. It encompasses intuitive processes which can be steered and evaluated transparently, either centrally or decentrally. The automated processes make an important contribution to efficiency and conserving resources.

Use of a digital guard patrol system

Klüh Security works with DigiControl, a digital guard patrol system that verifies the performance of patrols, at the same time serving as an emergency mobile phone and providing protection for individual workplaces. The system can be set to provide real-time records of patrols with photographic documentation.

Security work clothing now in DigiShop

DigShop is Klüh's proprietary shop system where employees can order things like IT equipment. Security Division employees can also order their work clothing through the system. The long-term goal is that all products needed within the Klüh world can be obtained via the digital marketplace. In the future, clients will also have access to the shop via a service catalogue individually tailored to their companies.
